Summit Inn Sign / Landmark in California
Decimated by fire, the Summit Inn went through several incarnations after opening in 1928. Realignment of the Route 66 necessitated relocations of the business. The café at this location was established in 1952. It was he only business at the summit of Cajon Pass to the transformation of Route 66 into a four lane highway.
