Old Joliet Prison / Attraction in Illinois
Opened in 1858, just six years after the incorporation of the City of Joliet, the Illinois State Penitentiary is now known as the Old Joliet Prison. The prison is best known as a setting in numerous movies and television programs including the 1980 film “The Blues Brothers.” It also appears in an episode of Get Smart and Prison Break.
