Munger Moss Motel / Motel in Missouri
A true icon the motel has been managed by the same family for more than 50 years. Originally, Munger Moss was the name for a sandwich shop in Devil’s Elbow, Missouri which was built in 1936 by Nellie Munger and husband, Emmitt Moss. The business was sold to Jessie and Pete Hudson in 1945. They purchased the Chicken Shanty in the same year, and added barbecue. They renamed it Munger Moss Barbecue. The Munger Moss Motel was built at the site and opened in 1946.
