Blue Spruce Lodge / Motel in New Mexico
John Milosivich opened this motel in 1949. The 1954 edition of the AAA Western Accommodations Directory noted, "One and two room units have air cooling, central heat and combination shower bath. Free ice. Special day rates for tourists who plan to drive the desert at night." Milosovich was elected the mayor Gallup in 1935 at the age of 21. He was the youngest mayor in the United States.
