Old Log Cabin Inn / Restaurant in Illinois
The Old Log Cabin Inn opened as the Log Cabin Restaurant in 1924. Initially it fronted State Highway 4, the course for Route 66 after 1926. With completion of the bypass alignment of Route 66 in the 1940s, the owner lifted the building from its foundation and turned it to face the new roadway.
