The Howard "Pappy" Litch Park in Galena was donated by the chamber of commerce and other members of the community. While it's more recent than Route 66, it does house a modern Will Rogers Highway marker, and a relocated 1952 marker dedicating Route 66 as the Will Rogers Highway. That original marker is just like the one in California and was originally located at the Kansas-Missouri border on the post 1940s alignment.
The location used to be a weigh station, and is being developed by the local community into a Route 66 attraction.
