Shaffer Fish Bowl Spring
Has anybody else encountered this odd little thing?
We were driving the road between Kingman and Oatman, and slowing down on a turn, we saw stairs leading up the hillside. We stopped the car, abandoned it on the side of the road, and climbed them. At the top was a fishpond stocked with goldfish.

Missed It
We knew about the pond, but somehow missed it while driving that stretch last fall. Must have been paying too much attention to the road at that point. Thanks for the pictures.
We'll catch it next time through.

Great post and photos! I feel bad that I missed the pond....my only excuse is that I was so excited to have some bends to carve, after nigh on 1500 miles, that I might just have been too busy dragging my boot-edges to concentrate on the other attractions!

Just One More Thing...
It places like the springs that make the old road so much fun. I think I might have heard that they have to restock the fish every so often.
I'm still mad that I missed it. It's just hard to drive through that stretch and not be in so much awe that you might miss something.

Yep, we saw it in June. Stopped and were swarmed by yellow jackets (or honey bees). No goldfish though. Really a neat place if you don't mind the bees.
