I am so happy to have found this Forum. I first saw the info on my Yahoo opening page yesterday. I was born and raised in Miami,OK so I am very familiar with the history of the Mother Road. I now live in SW Missouri which also is on the old historic Route 66. In fact, I live in the Joplin,Mo corridor at the present time.

As a child growing up I had many relatives who lived in SW MO so I had traveled the Route many, many times before the Interstate was ever even a thought. Galena,KS and Riverton,KS are familiar to me, too. I am a 57 year old Gramdmother now and enjoying retirement.
